Bucharesti

Old lady moomoo (sp)... gang of one

sunny 31 °C

My second night at our hostel. I hear the bell ringing furiously at midnight. Finally, I look out the window and see an older woman fussing at some of the guests in Romanian, but "police" is understandable in any language it seems. The guests were sitting quietly on the curb not causing any ruckus. (The night before, I saw the same woman fussing at a little girl thinking it was her grandaughter. The girl walked away and the lady stayed around surveying her territory.) The guests took a picture of her and quietly made their way back into the hostel. Pretty effective security.

Let me go back to the trip here from Brasov.

We opted for a Maxitaxi instead of the train because it was cheaper and quicker. It was on a Sunday and there was construction on the 2 lane highway up in the mountains. The driver often turned his engine off. It took alot longer than the train, but was enjoyable.

Bucharesti, unlike the other towns, is a big and sprawling city. The subway is good, the internet is faster, but the people tend to be less amiable...Big City.

I will now attempt to work on downloading the software for the photo part of this journal. If I am successful, my next entry (which should be tonight) will include them. I will try to plug photos into previous entries.

Until later...
